Tzu Chi volunteers and donating members gathered in Sagbayan and Getafe, Bohol on January 20-21, 2024, for the annual Year-End Blessing ceremony. The event brought together over 771 attendees in Sagbayan and 1,047 in Getafe, mainly comprising of donating members, Tzu Chi volunteers, youth, scholars, staff, Commissioners, and Faith Corps.
Upon entering the venues, participants who are donating members emptied their coin cans they had saved over the month and poured them onto the bamboo coin slider.
Tzu Chi youth, scholars and training volunteers captivated the audience with mesmerizing sign language performances set to the uplifting melodies of Tzu Chi songs.
Serving as the main highlight of the program, Dharma Master Cheng Yen’s blessings are sent out to everyone through the giving of red packets (紅包) which also represents the royalties received from the Master’s book publications.
                         
During the ceremony, heartfelt expressions of gratitude were extended to all those who have supported Tzu Chi’s humanitarian efforts. From donors to volunteers, each individual played a crucial role in making a difference in the lives of those in need.
The event was culminated by offering the Tzu Chi prayer song for global peace and harmony. This year, Master Cheng Yen’s guidance for all Tzu Chi people – To spread the Dharma and benefit all beings through faith, vow, and action and to protect the planet earth and the land by promoting a plant-based diet and doing good deeds together. May we all aim to achieve this by putting into act the words of Dharma Master Cheng Yen.
